It should be noted that there is presently no regular flight to Matagami. The closest destination by plane is Val-d'Or and from there, a 251 km drive by road is necessary to reach Matagami.

- Please note that
cellular telephone services are not available on the Matagami / Amos
road;
- Always keep a
survival kit including a snow shovel, candles, an axe, matches, replacement
fan belt, gaz line deicer and additional warm clothing;
- It is sometimes
difficult to pick up radio stations during your trip. Bring your own
music;
- In summer, don't
go in the bush without insect repellent;
- In winter, keep
cameras and video equipment warm, because when the temperature is very
cold, these don't function properly and the batteries die up in no time;
- Make sure your
car is in good condition, since several stretches of road are isolated
over several kilometers;
