Matagami, "Gateway to James Bay Territory", offers an incomparable way of life for a town of 2,500 residents. Recent investments have been made to improve the municipal arena and major renovations have been done at the civic centre during the last few years. Moreover, the civic centre houses a theatre, a renovated bowling alley, a restaurant and a swimming pool, all first quality accomodations.
